Overview
DTZ: Deutsch für Zuwanderer rehearses the Deutsch-Test für Zuwanderer with six complete Übungssätze, each with all four sections and its own subject: everyday life and neighbours, work and health, housing and public offices, school and training, money and contracts, travel and environment. Hören runs 25 minutes over 20 items with audio that plays the number of times the real exam allows. Lesen runs 45 minutes over 25 items in five parts. Schreiben gives you 30 minutes on one task of two and a model answer to compare against; Sprechen runs 16 minutes across three parts with photo prompts. Both are scored on the four criteria examiners use, and the results screen applies the certificate rule on top — A2 or B1 per section, then the certificate that sitting would have earned.

- No. DTZ: Deutsch für Zuwanderer is an independent study app built by Melih Firat. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to the BAMF, telc gGmbH or the Goethe-Institut, and it does not issue certificates. All practice material is written for this app to the shape the DTZ prescribes.
- What is in each Übungssatz?
- All four sections in exam order: Hören, 25 minutes and 20 items across four parts with audio; Lesen, 45 minutes and 25 items across five parts; Schreiben, 30 minutes on one task of two; and Sprechen, 16 minutes across three parts with photo prompts.
- How are Schreiben and Sprechen scored?
- You grade your own attempt on the same four criteria examiners use, then compare it with the model answer to see exactly where the points went.
- Does the app tell me which certificate I would have earned?
- Yes. The results screen gives A2 or B1 per section and then applies the certificate rule on top, including the case where Sprechen alone would have cost you the higher certificate.
- What does it cost?
- The app is free to download and Übungssatz 1 is free with all four sections. Pro unlocks the other five sets and the complete word list, offline forever, as a monthly or annual subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase.
