Holy Quran: Read the Quran with a modern interface - Terms of Use

Welcome to Holy Qur'an (“App”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of our application that provides Quran reading, translations, recitation playback, bookmarking, notes, offline access, and related features. By using the App, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. App Features & Services

The App includes, among others:

Quran Reading: Access to Quran text with multi-language translations
Audio Recitations: Verse and surah audio playback with selectable reciters
Bookmarks & Notes: Save verses and create notes for personal study
Offline Access: Download audio and content for use without internet
Appearance & Language: Customize fonts, themes, and interface language
Advertisements (where enabled): Non-personalized ads for free users

2. User Responsibilities

You agree to use the App respectfully and in accordance with applicable laws. You are responsible for maintaining your device and network connection and for managing any local data (e.g., downloads, bookmarks, notes) stored on your device.

3. Advertising

The App may display advertisements using Google Mobile Ads for free users. We request non-personalized ads by default and limit ad content rating. Ad behavior may vary by region and platform capabilities.

4. Data Sources & Third-Party Services

The App integrates with third-party services solely to provide Quran content and core functionality:

Quran API (api.acikkuran.com): Quran text and translations
Google Mobile Ads: Delivery of advertisements (non-personalized requested)
Platform Modules: Audio playback and file storage for offline access

We are not responsible for the availability or content of third-party services. Their usage is subject to their own terms and policies.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code
Use the App for unlawful activities or in violation of rights
Interfere with the App's operation or security features
Misuse content or attempt to bypass feature limitations

6. Privacy

We minimize data collection and store your bookmarks, notes, and downloads locally on your device. For details, please review our Privacy Policy.

7. Intellectual Property

Quran text and translations are provided for reading and study. The App's UI, design, and code are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute proprietary parts of the App without permission, except as permitted by applicable law.

8. Service Availability

We strive for high availability, but uninterrupted service is not guaranteed due to dependencies on third-party APIs, device capabilities, and network conditions. Features like audio download and offline mode depend on device storage and permissions.

9. Disclaimers

The App is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee that content is error-free or that the App will be uninterrupted. Third-party data may change and we do not warrant its accuracy or completeness.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Holy Quran and its affiliates will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including data loss or service interruptions, arising from your use of the App.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms to reflect new features or legal requirements. Updated Terms will be posted here with a revised effective date. Your continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws applicable in your jurisdiction unless otherwise required by local law. Any disputes shall be handled by competent courts or through applicable dispute resolution mechanisms.
