App Usage Data

Local usage such as bookmarks, notes, reciter/translation selections, reading preferences, and offline selections. This is stored on your device using local storage and files.

Basic runtime information like network status is used to enable features such as offline mode and downloads. This is not retained or linked to your identity.

Offline and Downloads

Downloaded recitations and offline assets (e.g., verse audio files) are stored on your device's file system to enable offline playback. File paths and progress metadata are maintained locally.

Advertising (Free Users)

If ads are enabled, Google Mobile Ads may receive an advertising identifier and basic engagement signals to deliver ads. We request non-personalized ads by default and limit ad content rating for a respectful experience.

We do not sell or trade your personal information. Limited data may be processed by these services to provide core functionality:

Quran API (api.acikkuran.com): Used to fetch Quran text and translations. Requests may be logged by the API provider according to their policies.
Google Mobile Ads: Delivers advertisements for free users. We request non-personalized ads and limit content rating. Data practices are governed by Google's policies.
Expo/React Native modules: Used for audio playback, file storage, and offline capability on your device. These modules do not transmit your local content to us.

Local Data Storage

Bookmarks, notes, reading preferences, selected translations/reciters, and downloaded audio are stored locally on your device (e.g., AsyncStorage and file system). You can clear downloads and reset preferences within the app. We do not operate a cloud account for your data.

Advertising Controls

Ads are configured to request non-personalized delivery by default with a limited content rating. Some ad placements may be disabled depending on app settings. If you prefer an ad-free experience, disable ads where available or use versions of the app without ads.

Permissions and Device Access

Network access: fetch Quran content and translations securely over HTTPS
File storage: save offline audio and content for reading without internet
Background audio (iOS): continue recitation playback while app is backgrounded

Data Security

We use appropriate technical measures to protect locally stored data and secure all network requests with TLS. While no method is 100% secure, we strive to protect your information during use, in transit, and at rest on your device.

Data Retention

Your data remains on your device for as long as you keep it. Deleting the app or clearing data within the app removes locally stored content such as downloads, bookmarks, and notes. API providers may retain anonymized request logs per their policies.

Children's Privacy

The app provides religious content suitable for all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Ads, where used, are configured with a limited content rating.

International Data Transfers

Content is fetched from remote APIs that may operate servers in various countries. Transfers occur over secure connections and in accordance with applicable laws.
