MovieTok: Scroll, Pick & Watch - Terms of Use

Welcome to MovieTok (“App”, “we”, “us”, or “our”). These Terms of Use (“Terms”) govern your use of our mobile application, a movie discovery platform featuring TikTok-style scrolling, IMDB integration, bookmarking, filtering, and streaming information. By using the App, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. App Features & Services

MovieTok provides the following features and services:

Movie Discovery: TikTok-style vertical scrolling interface for discovering movies
IMDB Integration: Direct links to IMDB pages and comprehensive movie information
Bookmarks & Lists: Save favorite movies and create custom watchlists
Smart Filtering: Filter movies by genre, rating, year, age rating, and popularity
Streaming Information: See where movies are available to watch across various platforms
Multi-language Support: Available in 12 languages with dynamic loading

2. Premium Subscriptions

MovieTok offers auto-renewable premium subscription plans that provide an enhanced, ad-free experience with unlimited access to all features:

MovieTok Premium Weekly: 1 week – Product ID: movietok_premium_weekly
MovieTok Premium Monthly: 1 month – Product ID: movietok_premium_monthly
MovieTok Premium Yearly: 1 year – Product ID: movietok_premium_yearly

Premium benefits include ad-free browsing, unlimited bookmarks and custom lists, and access to all premium filtering options. Subscription prices are shown in-app and may vary based on your location and currency.

3. Advertising

For free users, MovieTok displays advertisements through Google AdMob to support the app's development and maintenance. Advertisements may appear as:

Interstitial ads between movie browsing sessions
Banner advertisements in various app sections
Filter-based ads when using advanced search features

Premium subscribers enjoy an ad-free experience. Ad frequency is limited to ensure a positive user experience while supporting app sustainability.

4. Auto-Renewal & Billing

Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
Your account will be charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
You can manage or cancel subscriptions in your App Store or Google Play account settings.
No refunds or cancellations for the current subscription period are permitted except as required by applicable law.

5. Free Trials & Limitations

We may offer free trials for promotional purposes. Free users have access to core features with limitations including ads, limited bookmark storage, and restricted custom list creation. If you subscribe during a trial, any unused portion of the free trial period will be forfeited.

6. Data Sources & Third-Party Services

MovieTok integrates with various third-party services to provide comprehensive movie information:

The Movie Database (TMDB): Primary source for movie data, ratings, and images
IMDB Integration: Direct links to IMDB pages for detailed movie information
Streaming Providers: Information about where movies are available to watch
RevenueCat: Subscription management and payment processing
Google AdMob: Advertisement delivery and personalization

We are not responsible for the accuracy, availability, or content provided by these third-party services.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree to use MovieTok responsibly and not to:

Reverse engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract source code
Use the App for any unlawful purpose or illegal activity
Attempt to circumvent subscription limitations or ad systems
Create fake accounts or manipulate app functionality
Distribute malicious content or spam through the App

8. Privacy & Data Collection

Your privacy is important to us. MovieTok collects minimal data necessary for app functionality, including bookmarks, watch history, and preferences. We use analytics and advertising services that may collect additional data as described in our Privacy Policy. Premium users receive additional privacy protections through reduced data collection from advertising services.

9. Intellectual Property

Movie data, images, and ratings are provided by third-party services and remain the property of their respective owners. The MovieTok app interface, design, and functionality are protected by intellectual property laws. You may not copy, modify, or distribute our proprietary content without permission.

10. Service Availability

MovieTok depends on various external services for movie data and streaming information. We strive to maintain 99% uptime but cannot guarantee uninterrupted service due to dependencies on third-party APIs, network conditions, and maintenance requirements.

11. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your access to the App without notice if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your bookmarks and custom lists may be deleted. Premium subscriptions will continue until their natural expiration unless canceled.

12. Disclaimers

The App is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We do not guarantee the accuracy of movie information, streaming availability, or that the App will be uninterrupted or error-free. Movie ratings and information are provided by third parties and may not always be current or accurate.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MovieTok and its affiliates are not liable for any damages resulting from your use of the App, including but not limited to data loss, service interruptions, or inaccurate movie information.

14. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time to reflect new features, legal requirements, or business changes. Updated Terms will be posted here with a revised effective date, and your continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of those changes.

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where MovieTok operates. Any disputes will be resolved through binding arbitration except where prohibited by applicable law.
