Terms of Use

1. Acceptance of Terms

Use of “Goethe A1 to B1: Flashcards” (the “App”) means you accept these terms. If you do not, do not use the App.

2. Unofficial Application Disclaimer

The App is independent and unofficial. It is not affiliated with Goethe-Institut or associated entities. Nothing in the App is endorsed by Goethe-Institut.

Important notices:

  • Developer: Melih Firat (indie developer)
  • No connection to Goethe-Institut
  • “Goethe” appears for reference only
  • Content and formats are for vocabulary study and training purposes only

3. Trademark and Copyright

“Goethe-Institut” and related marks are the property of Goethe-Institut. This App does not claim rights to these marks. Use of “Goethe” is for descriptive/referencing purposes in the context of German language study and exam-level vocabulary (A1 through B1).

The App is not affiliated with, sponsored by, or endorsed by Goethe-Institut.

4. Subscription Services

Available Subscriptions:

  • German A1 to B1 Monthly (Product ID: german_a1_to_b1_monthly) — Duration: 1 month, auto-renewing subscription
  • German A1 to B1 Annual (Product ID: german_a1_to_b1_annual) — Duration: 1 year (12 months), auto-renewing subscription
  • German A1 to B1 Lifetime (Product ID: german_a1_to_b1_lifetime) — Duration: lifetime, one-time payment, non-renewing purchase

Subscription Terms:

  • Automatic Renewal: Unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the period, monthly and annual plans will auto-renew at the then-current rate.
  • Payment: Charged to your Apple ID/Google Play account.
  • Cancellation: Cancel anytime in App Store/Play Store subscription settings. Cancellation stops renewal; access continues until the end of the current paid period.
  • Lifetime Purchase: german_a1_to_b1_lifetime is a one-time purchase, is not auto-renewing, and does not require cancellation.
  • Refunds: Subject to store policies.
  • Price Changes: Advance notice will be provided where required; continuing use after a change may constitute acceptance as described at the time of notice.
  • Restore: Restore purchases on a new device within the App to continue access where eligible.

Pro Features Include:

  • Full access to premium vocabulary content and levels offered in the App (including A1, A2, and B1 word sets as made available)
  • Flashcards, word lists, and other study or practice features labeled or gated as Pro in the App

5. User Accounts and Data

You may not share your subscription.

Your information is handled according to our Privacy Policy.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access that violates these terms.

6. Intellectual Property

  • App Content: You do not own the content; you receive a limited license to use it for personal, non-commercial study.
  • Restrictions: Do not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, distribute, or sell any App content.
  • User Content: You retain rights to content you create; you grant a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, and use such content in the App.

7. Educational Purpose

The App is for training and learning only. It does not guarantee certification, exam results, or scores at any CEFR level. Actual exam performance depends on many factors beyond this App.

8. Disclaimers

The App is provided “AS IS”:

  • No express warranties
  • No guaranteed accuracy, completeness, or availability
  • No liability for damages from use
  • Not a substitute for official Goethe-Institut materials or courses
  • Not affiliated with any certification body

9. Limitation of Liability

To the extent allowed, the developer is not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages related to the App. In no event shall our total liability exceed the amount you paid in the 12 months preceding a claim.

10. Termination

  • You may stop using the App at any time.
  • We may terminate access for violations of these terms.
  • On termination, your license ends and you must stop using the App.

11. Modifications to Terms

We may change these terms. Changes are effective upon posting. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

12. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of Turkey, without regard to conflict-of-law provisions.

These Terms of Use constitute the entire agreement between you and Melih Firat concerning use of the App and supersede prior agreements.

By using the App, you acknowledge you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Use.
